Justice for Dannick Lessard
JUSTICE FOR DANNICK LESSARD!
Montreal, December 6, 2017 - The leader of the Conservative Party of Québec, Adrien Pouliot, has sent a letter to Justice Minister Stéphanie Vallée, urging her to explain what she intended to do to ensure justice to Mr. Dannick Lessard so that he can finally mourn and move on. He also asked her how she would improve our ailing provincial administration of justice so it becomes a Canadian model.
Recall that Benjamin Hudon Barbeau was recently convicted of masterminding the attempted murder of Dannick Lessard but that his attacker Ryan Wolfson avoided justice due to the Jordan case.
The injustice to victims of crime that results from these abortions is shocking. Mr. Lessard's case is even more revolting. Ryan Wolfson, the man who shot Mr. Lessard nine times, was in prison for the first-degree murder of Frederick Murdoch and attempted murder perpetrated against Vincent Pietrantonio and against the latter's son. One wonders what freedom Wolfson was denied pending trial in the case! As Mr. Lessard said rightly, it’s not for the victim to pay especially when all the evidence was there to bring a lawsuit against Wolfson. And although Ryan Wolfson is in prison for 25 years, he should have to account for his actions.
Mr. Lessard has shown the greatest courage by refusing to change his statement to police in another case where Benjamin Hudon Barbeau, who had sponsored her murder, was charged with attempted murder. It is shameful to see Mr. Lessard, like so many other victims, neglected for the benefit of these kinds of criminals.
