The Quebec Conservative calls for a serious warning to the SPVM
Montreal, April 15 2016 - « The political correctness disease has reached the highest ranks at the SPVM » says the leader of the Quebec Conservative Party further to the Wednesday nights events in Montreal-North.
According to media reports, individuals related to the Red street gang targeted by a police raid last Wednesday, who were suspected of drug trafficking and violation of parole conditions, were not arrested because they were in Montreal-North. The top brass at the SPVM had decided that police officers were not authorized to proceed with the arrests within that borough. The only authorized arrests had to be outside of police station 39 which covers Montreal-North. According to sources, police officers also had to ensure that Dany Villanueva was not in the Arthur-Chevrier street before the intervention, fearing that things might go wrong « because this is political »!
« This is unacceptable » insisted the Quebec Conservative Party leader Adrien Pouliot. «What is the Public Security Minister Martin Coiteux waiting for to remind the SPVM authorities that the SPVM is the police force of all Montrealers? Honest law-abiding citizens of this borough, whatever their origin, now have to live with criminals because police officers and politicians are afraid of the reaction of some left-wing groups. These citizens pay their taxes like all Montrealers and have the right to the same police protection. Period.”
