THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY OF QUEBEC HAS MORE MEMBERS THAN THE CAQ

For immediate release THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY OF QUEBEC HAS MORE MEMBERS THAN THE CAQ Montreal, March 16th, 2021 - The Conservative Party of Québec (PCQ) now has 12 222 members after a membership marathon led by the two leadership candidates and held on Monday evening, March 15th. This is more than the CAQ (11,500) on the eve of the last election in 2018. Several members of the CAQ have gone to the PCQ for a year, disappointed by the sanitary drift of the Legault government and its lack of control of public finances. The PCQ has already increased its membership 20-fold since last fall. The two candidates for the leadership of the PCQ, Daniel Brisson and Éric Duhaime, wish to establish this party in the National Assembly as of the next election. A second debate between the two candidates will be presented live on early April. More information will follow soon. The leadership race was sparked last fall by the announcement of the resignation of PCQ leader Adrien Pouliot. He will leave the reins of the Party on April 17th, 2021, when the members will choose the new leader. -30- Source: André Valiquette Communications Director Conservative Party of Québec Phone. : 514 [email protected]
